CONSTITUTIONAL ACT
of 19 March 1998
on the Shortening of the Electoral Term of the Assembly of Deputies
Parliament has enacted this Constitutional Act of the Czech Republic:
Art. 1
The electoral term of the Assembly of Deputies elected in the year 1996 shall come to an end in the year 1998 on the day of the elections to the Assembly of Deputies, which shall be held by 30 June 1998.
Art. 2
The time periods in § 12 para. 1, § 13 paras. 2 and 3, § 14 para. 1, § 28 para. 1, § 29 para. 1, and § 31 paras. 1 and 3 of Act No. 247/1995 Sb., on Elections to the Parliament of the Czech Republic and on Amendments and Supplements to further Acts, as amended by Act No. 212/1996 Sb., shall, in this case, be shortened by one-third. The time periods in § 32 para. 1, § 33 para. 1, and § 34 para. 1 shall be shortened by 20 days.
Art. 3
This Constitutional Act shall enter into effect on the day it is promulgated.
