Meeting of V4 Constitutional Courts in Budapest

Upon the invitation of President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary Mr Tamás Sulyok the delegations of three Visegrad Group countries took part in Conference held in Budapest. Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic was represented by its President Mr Pavel Rychetský.

The topic of the judicial meeting and of the conference was “Preserving Constitutional identity within the European Union” and all four participating Constitutional Courts exchanged their views and experiences related thereto. Despite the different scope of Constitutional identity´s  content in particular countries, there was a univocal consent on the role of Constitutional Courts in description and protection of fundamental values established by national constitutions.
