Doc. JUDr. Michaela Židlická, Dr. (*1952) graduated in 1975 from the J. E. Purkyně Law Faculty, from which she also received the title, doctor of laws, in 1981. Her post-graduate studies, in 1992–95 at the Comenius Law Faculty, were concentrated on Roman law. In 2002 she was named a docent. In 1976–89 she worked as a company lawyer. From 1991 she taught Roman law at the Masaryk Law Faculty, from 1999 was the guarantor in that field, and after 2002, a docent. She has completed a number of professional fellowships abroad, particularly in France and Austria, is the author or co-author of books, textbooks, academic essays and writings, and book reviews in the field of Roman law. She lectures in the field of legal history at conferences, both at home and abroad, and at foreign universities. On 16 June 2004 President Václav Klaus appointed her a Justice of the Constitutional Court.
