JUDr. Miloš Holeček

JUDr. Miloš Holeček (*1950, †2016) studied at the Charles Law Faculty. While still a student, he began to work as a judicial trainee at the Regional Court in Brno. He passed the judicial examination, was elected a judge, and the Czech National Council appointed him the chairman of a panel of the Municipal Court in Brno, where he specialized in civil law proceedings.In 1982 he passed examinations in constitutional law and civil law at the Charles Law Faculty, and a doctoral degree was conferred on him. In 1990 he became the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court in Brno. In November 1991 he moved to the Regional Court in Brno, where he became the Deputy Chief Judge for Civil Matters. In February 1990 the Presidium of the Czech National Council appointed him a member of the commission for drafting the Constitution of the Czechoslovak Republic.

On 15 July 1993 President Václav Havel appointed him a Justice and a Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court and, following the resignation of JUDr. Zdeněk Kessler in 2003,  President Václav Klaus appointed him Chief Justice. Upon finishing his term as Justice of the Constitutional Court, he served as a judge of the Regional Court in Brno.

Miloš Holeček died on 16 april 2016.
