JUDr. Miloslav Výborný

JUDr. Miloslav Výborný (*1952) graduated from Charles Law Faculty in 1975. After compulsory military service, he passed his post-graduate exams in 1978. In 1978–96 he worked in Chrudim, first as an articling lawyer, then as an advocate. 1n 1990 he was elected a Deputy of the Czech National Council (from 1993, the Assembly of Deputies) and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 1998 and 2002. In 1991–96 he was Chairman of the Constitutional Law Committee. In 1992 he was a member of the Government Commission for the preparation of the Czech Constitution. In 1996 he became Minister of Defense. In 1998 he chaired the Government’s Legislative Council. In 1998–2002 he was Chairman of the Assembly of Deputies Mandate and Immunity Committee, and in 2002–3 he again served as the Chairman of its Constitutional Law Committee. In 1998–2003 he served as the Mayor of Heřmanův Městec. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Administrative Council of the University of Pardubice, and its Chairman since 2005. Until 2003 he was a member of the Christian and Democrat Union-Czechoslovak People‘s Party. On 30 June 2003 President Václav Klaus appointed him a Justice of the Constitutional Court.
