On Tuesday afternoon, the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr Pavel Rychetský, met with the Portuguese Ambassador to the Czech Republic. His Excellency Mr Luís de Almeida Sampaio is one of the most experienced Portuguese diplomats. In the past, he served as Ambassador to Algiers, Berlin and Belgrade. From 2015 to 2019, he was Portugal's Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He has headed the embassy in Prague since December 2019. 

Mr. Pavel Rychetský received His Excellency at the Constitutional Court already in 2020. This time the debate focused on the relationship between national law and European and international law in a broader (comparative) European perspective. In addition, several issues of the development of the constitutional system of the Czech Republic were discussed.
