Daniela Zemanová (born 30 September 1971 in Jablonec nad Nisou) graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague in 1994, after which she worked briefly as a legal trainee before starting her career in the judiciary in 1998. In 2001, she was appointed a judge of the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem – Liberec Branch, where she focused on administrative justice until moving to the Supreme Administrative Court (2006–2018). Here, she participated in the decision-making in general administrative justice cases, and she was also a member of the Chamber for the Electoral Matters, Referenda and Political Parties and a presiding judge of the disciplinary chamber that deals with matters of judges. In 2018, she changed both her workplace and specialisation, becoming a judge of the civil law appeal section of the Municipal Court in Prague, only to return to her very first court three years later, the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem – Liberec Branch, where she focused on family law cases.

In 2011–2014, she served as the Vice-President of the Czech Union of Judges, a professional judges organisation, of which she was subsequently elected the President for two further terms (2014–2020). She focused in particular on the training and selection of judges, the conditions of service and selection of judicial officials, as well as on the State administration of courts. She has long been active in the field of judicial ethics. She gives lectures on the above topics and is a member of the examination committee for professional judicial examinations. She is the author of a commentary on the Act on Courts and Judges, published by C.H. Beck in 2022. She is also a board member and an active participant of the Czech Lawyers’ Union (Jednota českých právníků), where she promotes the permeability of the legal profession.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, talking with friends, walking in the woods and getting lost in books.

On 5 June 2023, the President of the Czech Republic appointed her as a Justice of the Constitutional Court.
