A new date of the XVIIIth Congress of CECC has been approved

The XVIIIth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts (CECC) was supposed to be held on 26 to 29 May 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the event had to be rescheduled. Based on the correspondence voting held from 24 March 2020 to 15 April 2020 and in accordance with Art. 9 para 4. of the Conference Regulations of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts the Circle of Presidents approved by way of a circular resolution the postponement of the XVIIIth Congress of CECC for February 2021. It was also agreed that the organizer (the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic) will set up the precise date of this Congress as soon as possible and will ask the CECC member courts for their consent.

On 20 May 2020 the President of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic (the Court currently presiding over CECC and organizing its XVIIIth Congress) proposed 24 – 26 February 2021 as the new date for the XVIIIth Congress (25 February 2021 for the Congress itself and 24 and 26 February for the meetings of the Circle of Presidents of CECC). With the consent of 38 member Courts (and 2 abstention) the proposed date was approved.
