Yesterday, on 8 August 2023, the President of the Republic, Petr Pavel, appointed Veronika Křesťanová as a Justice of the Constitutional Court. The solemn act took place at the Prague Castle a day after the mandate of the President and Justice of the Constitutional Court Pavel Rychetský and the mandate of the Justice of the Constitutional Court Ludvík David had expired.

After graduating from law school, JUDr. Veronika Křestanová, Dr. worked as an attorney. Since 2010, she has been a judge. Her judicial career has so far been associated with the Municipal Court in Prague, where she has served as Vice-President since 2017. She has also worked in academia for a number of years. Her main areas of expertise are copyright, right of privacy and media law.

Thanks to her long experience in the judiciary and excellent professional qualifications, Veronika Křesťanová will undoubtedly be of great benefit to the Constitutional Court. We wish Madam Justice all the best in fulfilling her new mission.
